Danielle Hilbrich

Aquatic Invasive Species Outreach Educator

Danielle Hilbrich is the IISG's Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Outreach Educator, and is located at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Illinois. She leads the AIS team's social science efforts including surveying anglers to help characterize Illinois' invertebrate bait industry. She is also leading our pet-take-back events and promotional efforts, and continues to help out on all other aspects of AIS outreach and education.

Before coming to IISG, she was a Research Fellow for the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education and she was appointed to the U.S. EPA Great Lakes National Program Office. There, she contributed to the Asian Carp Regional Coordinating Committee, worked on the State of the Lakes Ecosystem Conferences and with the associated Great Lakes Indicators, and spent time on the U.S. EPA research vessel, the Lake Guardian. Danielle has a M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a B.A. in Environmental Science and Geography from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
