Aquatic Ecology Specialist
Jay Beugly is our aquatic ecology specialist located on Purdue University’s West Layette campus. He works closely with IISG’s research team to increase public awareness of the Michigan City and Wilmette nearshore buoy and help boaters, anglers, and beachgoers make use of the data. He also helps coordinate graduate students aquatic research and outreach activities at Purdue.
Jay earned a Master’s degree in biology at Ball State University, where he worked on river and stream ecology. He currently works with elementary to high school students to understand how aquatic organisms can inform researchers about aquatic health and water quality.
