The Illinois Water Resources Center (IWRC) is looking for a Water Resources Outreach Specialist to coordinate outreach and special projects. Water quality outreach, particularly related to nutrient loss reduction in Illinois will be a large component of this position.
Some responsibilities are:
- Organize and facilitate water conferences and meetings, including working with an advisory committee, reviewing and selecting scientific papers, coordinating student poster competitions (including judging student posters), working with an events coordinator on conference logistics, and related activities.
- Work with user groups and the IWRC director to help identify knowledge gaps, emerging issues and outreach strategies to fill those gaps.
- Translate water quality research into outreach materials for various audiences.
- Drawing on current water news and research, maintain the IWRC website, social media feeds, and other publications.
This full-time position will be located on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign-Urbana.
