Great Lakes Science Liaison
Dominique Turney serves as a Great Lakes Science Liaison for Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant (IISG) and an Aquatic Ecology Research Scientist for the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University. Her role as a Great Lakes Science Liaison focuses on supporting and leading various Great Lakes research projects and contributing to IISG’s outreach and engagement program.
Before joining IISG, Dominique was a Large River Research Ecologist for the Illinois Natural History Survey at the University of Illinois, researching invasive carp (copi) in the Upper Mississippi River. She brings past research experiences working on river ecology, aquatic invasive species management, and telemetry to evaluate fish movements.
Dominique earned a master’s degree in Biological Sciences from Western Illinois University and a dual bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from Purdue University. She also maintains certification as an Associate Fisheries Professional through the American Fisheries Society.
