Julie works to foster the next generation of Lake Michigan stewards–today’s K-12 students. To that end, she develops educational programs and resources that address local needs and increase literacy about IISG’s priority research and outreach issues. And she supports educators in implementation of IISG curricula through innovative professional development workshops and place-based education programs.

Julie brings over a decade of experience as a high school science teacher and curriculum writer. She earned a M.S. in biology education from University of Illinois and a B.S. in biology education from Illinois State University.
