Method Development for Analyzing Microplastics in Sediment of Lake Michigan

Major Goals and Objectives

Plastic contamination of the global environment has been widely recognized, but little information is available for the Great Lakes sediment. The objective of this project is to establish laboratory procedures for the analysis of microplastics in sediment of natural waters, and obtain preliminary data for Lake Michigan.
