State of Lake Michigan Meeting: Call for Abstracts

Call for Abstracts
Deadline to Submit: July 13, 2026 at 1:00pm Eastern
The Call for Abstracts is now open. We invite those to share their work at this year’s gathering focused on Lake Michigan science, stewardship, and its future.
We welcome submissions that highlight emerging research, innovative management strategies, collaborative projects, and community-engaged approaches that advance understanding and protection of the Lake Michigan ecosystem.
Planned symposia include:
- 100% Fish Initiative
- AI-Enabled Decision Support for Watershed Management and Conservation
- Aquatic Invasive Species
- Coastal Resilience
- Collaborating Across Research, Management, Outreach, and Education – Success in Partnership
- Contaminants of Emerging Concern
- Cooperative Science and Monitoring Initiative
- Environmental Sensing
- In-Stream and Nearshore Habitat Restoration
- Lake Michigan Fisheries
We are also looking for presentation abstracts related to Lake Michigan within the following topic areas:
- Areas of Concern Restoration/Remediation
- Conservation/Recovery of Threatened and/or Endangered Species
- Data Centers/Large-Scale Water Use Issues
- E. coli/Beach Contamination
- Land Use
- Nutrient Loading
- Shipping
We encourage abstract submissions that include other topics relevant to Lake Michigan not listed above.
