Sarah Peterson
Coastal Engineering and Community Resilience Specialist
Dr. Sarah Peterson is the Coastal Engineering and Community Resilience Specialist for the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant College Program and is a professional staff member in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University. In her role, Sarah is focused on developing a program that enhances community coastal hazard preparedness along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Indiana and Illinois through collaboration, research, and technical guidance, education, and outreach.
Sarah holds a BS and PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focused on analyzing coastal geomorphic change near coastal structures under water level fluctuation in Lake Michigan and Lake Superior.
