Pat Charlebois

Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator

Pat leads our efforts in developing outreach tools on aquatic invasive species (AIS). These tools are designed for those associated with activities through which AIS can be introduced and spread, and include an Illinois AIS web site with links to Illinois AIS regulations, a comprehensive information kit on Habitattitude due for aquarium hobbyists, and resources to aid anglers in Asian carp identification.

Pat also helps facilitate group processes such as the Indiana Aquatic Plants in Trade Working Group which is addressing the invasive aquatic plant issue in Indiana through outreach, regulations and best management practices. She is also involved in a new project looking at the role of biological supply houses and school curricula in the introduction of aquatic invasive species.

Pat attended the University of Notre Dame where received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in aquatic biology. She has been our AIS specialist since 1996.
