Megan Gunn
Aquatic Education Associate
West Lafayette, IN 47907-2033
Megan works with students in NW Indiana and NE Illinois, teaching them about Lake Michigan and its wonderful resources. One of our goals at Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant is to spark interest in young people about the Great Lakes, aquatic sciences, natural resources, and sustainability. Through outreach and education events, Megan’s work helps get students involved in the outdoors and excited about possible careers in natural resources.
Along with her work at IISG, Megan is a recruitment and outreach specialist for Purdue Forestry and Natural Resources and director of The Familiar Faces Project (TFFP), a program designed to increase the interest in natural resource science careers by bridging the gap between underrepresented minority youth communities and professionals in the field that look like them. She previously served for several years as the manager of an aquatic ecology research lab at Purdue University. Megan earned her BS in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Science from Purdue University.
