Megan Gunn
Aquatic Education Associate
Megan Gunn works with students in northwest Indiana and northeast Illinois, teaching them about Lake Michigan and its wonderful resources. One of our goals at Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant is to spark interest in young people about the Great Lakes, aquatic sciences, natural resources, and sustainability. Through outreach and education events, Megan’s work helps get students involved in the outdoors and excited about possible careers in natural resources.
Along with her work at IISG, Megan plays a pivotal role in supporting students in Purdue University’s Department of Forestry and Natural Resources (FNR), where she advises the FNR Ambassadors and Purdue Student Chapter of Environmental Education. She previously served for several years as the manager of an aquatic ecology research lab at Purdue.
Megan earned her bachelor’s in ecology, evolution, and environmental biology and her master’s in education, curriculum, and instruction with a focus on educational technology from Purdue University.
